Overview of Martin Guitars
The Martin Guitar Company has been making
some of the finest guitars in the world for over a century and
a half. Each generation in the Martin Guitar Company has
brought with itself new and evolutionary concepts and creative
designs to enhance guitar playing and make it a worthwhile
experience.
Martin guitars have had a colorful and
eventful history as the company strived to adapt itself to a
changing market and requirements and did it ever so
successfully. Changes in product design, manufacturing methods

and even today the Martin Guitar Company has very few
competitors. In spite of these changes in the market, C. F.
Martin always stuck to their initial commitment to quality.
The Martin Guitar Company is considered as
one of America’s most famous guitar design and manufacturing
company and it was founded in Markneukirchen, Germany on
January 31, 1796. Till date, the Martin Guitar Company has
sold more than 1 million guitars worldwide. The different

solid tonewoods – such as rosewood, mahogany, koa, ebony and
spruce – as well as exotic varieties within these species in
limited quantities. Many of these instruments include

Martin models and require a great deal of hand craftsmanship.”
